The Paterna City Council has become the first town hall in Spain to implement Soocial Distance technology in the Town Hall’s Information and Citizen Service Offices (SIAC) to guarantee keeping the safety distance between users.
This system, which has been developed by the start-up NBN23 from Paterna and has been in operation since this week, manages to control, through cards that are given to each citizen, that they maintain the social security distance while allowing them to know the offices capacity in real time.
To carry out this technology, a locator has been installed and two types of cards are available, one for City Hall staff and the other one for residents. In addition, disinfectant machines have been arranged for the material that has been used.
This innovative system also allows, in case of positives for Covid19, to record which other users have been close to the infected person and how far away, information that can be of great use to health authorities.
The Smart City and Citizen Services councilor, Lucas Jodar, explained that “the card vibrates if the distance between two people is less than 1.5 meters and, in addition there is a screen installed on which all users who at that moment are waiting to be attended by the City Council staff ”.
Jodar has also highlighted that “this initiative allows to maintain the safety space of each citizen and worker and puts Paterna at the forefront in terms of the application of technological innovation to fight against the spread of the coronavirus.”
The tool has been promoted by the startup NBN23 from Paterna, installed in the Paterna Technological Park EGM, which develops technology in an international level and is carrying out a pilot test of this tool in the Municipal Sports City offices and in the Hispanic high school.
